SSC CGL photo and signature size
SSC CGL does not ask for a photograph file. The form takes the photo live. You upload a signature: JPEG, 10–20 KB, about 6.0 cm by 2.0 cm.
Your image never leaves this phone. The resize happens on this device. ExamPicResizer does not receive the file.
Part of this preset is not a number printed in the notice. The table says which part. If the form disagrees, follow the form.
Prepare the file
Default target follows paragraph 9.6. The annexure target is the other sentence in the same notice.
Target 709×236 px, 10–20 KB · part of this target is not printed in the notice
What the notice says
The Combined Graduate Level notice published on 21 May 2026 tells you to sit in front of the camera while the application takes the photograph. A picture of a picture can be rejected, unless the application went through Aadhaar authentication.
Paragraph 9.6 asks for a scanned signature in JPEG or JPG, 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide by 2.0 cm high. The annexure in the same PDF says about 4.0 cm by 2.0 cm. Both lines are in the notice. This tool starts from the 6.0 cm line and can switch to the annexure size. It does not print a DPI, so the pixel size is marked unverified.
| File | Format | Size | Kilobytes | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | Live camera | No file. Captured in the form. | — | Live capture |
| Signature | JPEG | 709 × 236 (assumed) | 10–20 KB | Check the notice |
Status colours: green means the figure was read from the notice, red means part of the row is not printed there.
Signature
Default target follows paragraph 9.6. The annexure target is the other sentence in the same notice.
- Black or dark ink on white paper. Keep the signature horizontal.
- Make the signature large. SSC’s own upload note says miniature signatures are the main reason files are rejected, and the signature should fill most of the box.
- JPEG or JPG only, between 10 KB and 20 KB.
- Pixel dimensions. The notice prints centimetres, not pixels. 709×236 is 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm at an assumed 300 DPI, the DPI SSC prints for Constable (GD) 2026 but not for this notice.
- Which centimetre size the portal enforces. Paragraph 9.6 says about 6.0 × 2.0 cm and the annexure says about 4.0 × 2.0 cm.
Why these files get rejected
- Photographing a printed or saved photo instead of your live face.
- Cap, mask, or spectacles in the live photograph, or a face that does not fill the on-screen frame.
- A miniature or blurred signature. SSC names miniature signatures as the usual failure.
- A signature file outside 10–20 KB, or a format other than JPEG.
- A signature that is sideways. The upload note asks for a horizontal signature.
Questions candidates actually ask
What is the SSC CGL photo size for 2026?
There is no photograph file. The CGL 2026 notice captures the photo live in the application. You still carry passport photos to the exam hall, but those are not given as a JPEG size in the notice.
What is the SSC CGL signature size in KB?
JPEG or JPG, 10 KB to 20 KB. Paragraph 9.6 also says about 6.0 cm wide by 2.0 cm high. The annexure says about 4.0 cm by 2.0 cm. Check the line your form is enforcing.
Does SSC CGL state a pixel size?
No. This page’s 709×236 figure is 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm converted at an assumed 300 DPI. The notice does not print that DPI. Treat the pixels as a working size, not an official number.
Will Aadhaar authentication skip the signature check?
The notice says applications authenticated with Aadhaar will not be rejected only because the photograph or signature missed the prescribed standard. Upload a clear signature anyway. The signature is matched later in the exam.
