SSC MTS photo and signature size
For MTS and Havaldar, the photograph is live. The signature upload is JPEG, 10–20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide by 2.0 cm high.
Your image never leaves this phone. The resize happens on this device. ExamPicResizer does not receive the file.
Part of this preset is not a number printed in the notice. The table says which part. If the form disagrees, follow the form.

What the notice says
The MTS and Havaldar notice keeps the photograph inside the application. You stand or sit before the camera. The text extraction of this notice does not repeat the older 20–50 KB passport-file rule.
The signature line that appears in the how-to-apply section is JPEG, 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm by 2.0 cm. A 4.0 cm annexure line was not found in this notice. No DPI is printed, so any pixel size is unverified.

Status colours: green means the figure was read from the notice, red means part of the row is not printed there.
Signature
Taken from the 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm line. This MTS notice, as read on 8 Nov 2026, did not also print a 4.0 cm size.
- Black or dark ink on white paper. Keep the signature horizontal.
- Make the signature large. SSC’s own upload note says miniature signatures are the main reason files are rejected, and the signature should fill most of the box.
- JPEG or JPG only, between 10 KB and 20 KB.
- Pixel dimensions. The notice prints centimetres, not pixels. 709×236 is 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm at an assumed 300 DPI, the DPI SSC prints for Constable (GD) 2026 but not for this notice.
Why these files get rejected
- A live photo of an existing photograph instead of your face.
- Side face, poor light, cap, mask, or spectacles in the captured photo.
- Blurred or miniature signature.
- Signature heavier than 20 KB or lighter than 10 KB.
- Putting a thumb impression in place of a signature when you are able to sign. The notices allow a thumb impression for some visually impaired candidates, not as a general substitute.
Questions candidates actually ask
What photo file does SSC MTS accept?
None. The 2025 MTS and Havaldar notice captures the photograph in the form. Prepare the signature file, not a passport JPEG.
What is the MTS signature size?
JPEG, 10 KB to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high. Pixels are not stated.
Why does the downloaded file have a pixel size if SSC did not print one?
The form needs some dimensions to save a JPEG. 709×236 assumes 300 DPI. If the portal complains about dimensions rather than kilobytes, the DPI assumption is the first thing to drop.
Is Havaldar different from MTS for the signature?
They share this notice and the same signature paragraph. Posts differ later, at preference and document verification, not in the signature file.
