RRB Group D photo and signature size

Group D (Level-1) CEN 09/2025 captures the photo live. The signature is JPG, 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels, inside a 35 mm × 20 mm box.

Your image never leaves this phone. The resize happens on this device. ExamPicResizer does not receive the file.

Part of this preset is not a number printed in the notice. The table says which part. If the form disagrees, follow the form.

Prepare the file

413 × 236 is the 35 mm × 20 mm box at an assumed 300 DPI. The notice’s exact requirement is a minimum of 140 × 60 and a minimum of 100 DPI, not this pixel pair. A file at the 140 × 60 floor cannot reliably reach 30 KB.

What the notice says

CEN 09/2025 para 16.4 says candidates are not required to upload a pre-existing photograph. The module captures a live photo on a webcam or the phone’s front camera. Non-white clothing is preferred so the figure separates from the background.

Para 16.5.1 is the signature: your running hand, black ink, white paper, JPG, 30 KB to 49 KB, minimum 140 × 60 pixels, minimum 100 DPI, centred in a 35 mm × 20 mm box. Thumb impression in place of a signature is listed as a ground for rejection.

Signature

413 × 236 is the 35 mm × 20 mm box at an assumed 300 DPI. The notice’s exact requirement is a minimum of 140 × 60 and a minimum of 100 DPI, not this pixel pair. A file at the 140 × 60 floor cannot reliably reach 30 KB.

  • Sign in running handwriting with black ink on white paper. Not in block or capital letters.
  • JPG or JPEG, between 30 KB and 49 KB.
  • At least 140 × 60 pixels, scanned at a minimum of 100 DPI.
  • Centre the signature in a 35 mm × 20 mm box.
  • Exact pixel size. Only the 140 × 60 minimum is printed.
  • 300 DPI. Only a 100 DPI minimum is printed. 300 DPI is used so the scan box stays above both minimums and the file can reach 30 KB.

Why these files get rejected

  • Uploading any pre-existing photograph, including a photo of a photo.
  • Signature in block or capital letters, or in ink that is not black.
  • Non-white background, blank image, or a thumb impression uploaded as the signature.
  • File size outside 30–49 KB, or dimensions below 140 × 60 pixels.
  • A signature that does not match the one captured later at CBT, PET, document verification or medical examination.

Questions candidates actually ask

What is the RRB Group D photo size?

There is no photo file in CEN 09/2025. Paragraph 16.4 is live capture. Older 50–100 KB upload figures are from earlier Level-1 notices.

What is the Group D signature size?

JPG or JPEG, 30 KB to 49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels, at least 100 DPI, inside a 35 mm × 20 mm box.

Is 140×60 the size I should export?

It is the minimum, not a target. This tool exports 413 × 236 so the box is respected and the file can reach 30 KB. That exact size is an assumption and is labelled as one.

Do I upload a thumb impression?

Not instead of the signature. The CEN lists a thumb impression in place of a signature as a reason to reject the application.
